You Can Live Your Dream

Nov 13 / Van Moody
We all have a dream in our hearts. Our dreams are often big and require us to work for them – but the good news is we can live our dreams! Proverbs 16:9, encourages us to pursue our dreams, saying, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Once our dream is established in our hearts, we can move toward it in confidence, allowing the Lord to establish our steps and make us able to live our dream.

Sometimes disappointments and delays cause us to doubt our dreams. Sometimes naysayers try to discourage us from pursuing our dreams. In both instances, we have to  summon our courage, commit afresh to our dream, and move forward. No dream is ever too big when God has placed it in your heart. In Romans 8:31-32, God’s Word encourages our dreams, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”

Most of us know the story of Joshua and Caleb and how they adopted God’s big dream for Israel as their own. Within their story, we also learn that when we go after big dreams challenges are to be expected. Knowing this truth also helps us be prepared and ready to overcome the challenges with God’s help as we are encouraged to do by Philippians 4:13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

We can live our dreams with God’s help! Let’s read Philippians 4:13, this time from the Amplified Bible, “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]” This week let us be reminded that our God-given dreams are worth protecting as we make steps toward them regularly.
